About us

Established in April 2000, The Digital Pen began its life in Rome, GA primarily as a document and web design firm, helping small businesses and organizations promote their products and services.  And while we still design several newsletters, photo restoration quickly became our primary service.

The Digital Pen is owned and operated by Jarratt Bryan, a Florida native, but a Roman since 1995.  In 1992, Jarratt graduated from Florida State University and in 1998, he completed his Master's degree in Technical and Professional Communication from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia.

From 1993-95, Jarratt was the sole reporter for The Walker County Messenger, a small newspaper in Northwest Georgia. In 1995, he went to work for Learning Labs, Inc. as a curriculum writer. Soon thereafter, he was promoted to Development Manager for Applied Technologies, a division of Learning Labs, where he manages writers and develops technical curriculum for middle and high school students.  Part of that job is manipulating photos, which is where he discovered the joy of fixing old, damaged pictures.

The Digital Pen treats each and every photo, slide, and VHS tape as it if were their own.  These items never leave our office and are returned to the customer along with the restored pictures, DVD videos, or photo collages.

Contact us if you'd like to be given an estimate on a damaged picture, or to discuss any other service we provide.  Also be sure to check us out on Facebook as we have many examples of our work posted there!
